How To Make Money on Pinterest in 2023 (For Beginners)

How To Make Money on Pinterest in 2023

Can you really make money on Pinterest? ðŸ˜®

You were probably searching for how to earn money using Pinterest or how to make money on Pinterest, weren’t you?
I’m sure you’ve heard a lot of bloggers and online influencers harp on this a lot! Like me, you probably ignored the idea because you didn’t think it would be possible to make money on Pinterest.
I don’t blame you for being skeptical because I was too.

How much money can you make on Pinterest?

How would you react if I told you that you could make $20, $50, $100, or even more than $200 per day on Pinterest?
And nope, these side hustle ideas don’t require experience at all.
I personally started with absolutely no experience but eventually learned how to earn money with Pinterest during my spare time to make money online!
Overall, how would that extra cash help you? Would it help you pay off some debt, stop living paycheck to paycheck, or put a bit extra towards your vacation savings fund?

When I first used Pinterest to pin my favorite home décor and DIY crafts to my boards, I had no idea that you could make money on Pinterest. The thought never crossed my mind because I was just a normal user looking for something beautiful, relevant, helpful, and inspiring.

Step by step guide: How to make money on Pinterest

There are two popular ways to make money on Pinterest.

One way is to start a blog (my top recommendation), and the other method doesn’t require a blog, which I talk more about later on.
In either case, you don’t need any experience to start!

How I make money on Pinterest with a blog

Just like you, I always thought I’d be working the traditional 9-5 job for the rest of my life!
It wasn’t until I discovered that bloggers were making extra money or earning a full-time income with Pinterest that led me to try this out myself.
And TA-DA!
Here I am… writing about my own personal experience on how I make money on Pinterest in less than a year!

To be totally transparent, I struggled for many months and learned a ton before making my first $1,000.
I only tell you this because I don’t want you to think this is some sleazy “get rich quick” scheme. It will require work and effort, but your earnings potential will be unlimited!
I know you’re super excited about this opportunity, so let’s get right into it!

  1. Start a blog for really cheap price!

I highly recommend starting a self-hosted blog with THIS web hosting company before you learn how to make money on Pinterest.
It is really cheap to invest in a web hosting plan
+ plus you get a FREE domain name ($15 value) when you sign up through this link here and go for at least the 12-month plan.
I personally started my blog with them too when I was a beginner.

I know you might be thinking of starting a blog for free on WordPress.com or Blogger, but DO NOT go that route!
It would be near impossible to make money when you sign up for a free blog because no one will take you seriously.
On top of that, applying to ad networks and affiliate programs will be extremely tough. So believe me, you will want to start your blog the correct way by following my easy step-by-step tutorial here. You will thank yourself for doing this!

🌟 SPECIAL NOTE: I‘m super excited to let you know that you can start your blog with Bluehost for as low as $2.95 USD/month when you use this exclusive link hereThat’s over 60% off regular pricing. Plus, when you sign up for at least the 12-month plan, will recieve a FREE domain name ($15 value)!
This LOW price is exclusive to Youu!
If you’re interested and would like to learn more, you can visit my tutorial,

2.Write relevant and helpful content.

Now that you’ve started a blog, write 5-10 epic posts related to your niche that will solve your readers’ problems.
Before you start writing, take a step back and figure out who your target audienceis.
I always recommend choosing something you enjoy talking about.
Don’t choose a topic just because you think it will make money. Sure, it may work out, but can you really keep writing about something you don’t have a genuine interest in?
The last thing you want is your blog to feel like a chore.
This diagram will help you determine what you can write about while solving your readers’ problems.

– Passion: I’m not going to tell you to quit your job and chase your passions without any financial support. But what would you do with your life if you were financially independent? I know this is tough to answer, so this free personality test is amazing and can help you figure it out as long as you answer truthfully!

– Skills: What are you good at? What do you usually get compliments on?
– Market demand: What are people searching A LOT for on Google and Pinterest? I recommend using BEST KEYWORD FINDER for some guidance. Billions of people out there want answers and solutions to their problems!

Remember that readers need your help with something. Most of them aren’t here to read about your problems. When they land on your page, they will subconsciously ask:
“What’s in it for me?”
Your ideal spot is to hit all these 3 elements (passion, skills, and market demand)!
I know it’s easier said than done, but if you really put the time and effort into figuring this out, you will be rewarded!

💡PRO TIP: You don’t have to be an expert in your field to be considered skilled. For example, you could document your learning journey and teach others your mistakes and what you’ve learned. Lessons add a ton of value to your readers (as long as it’s what people are searching for A LOT)!

3. Set up a Pinterest Business account.

Start your Pinterest journey by signing up for a business Pinterest account. This is 100% free to sign up for and use.
Once that’s done, follow the instructions here to claim your website on Pinterest. Trust me, it’s idiot-proof. They make it fast and easy to follow their step-by-step instructions!

💡PRO TIP: Make sure to include relevant keywords in your profile bio. This will allow users to find you more easily.

4. Create Pinterest boards and pins.

Now you can start creating boards and making pins for your Pinterest account. I recommend using Canva to make pins when you’re a beginner. The service is free and easy to use.
Like your bio description from step #3, make sure to sprinkle relevant keywordsinto your personal boards and pin descriptions. By the way, when I say “sprinkle” I don’t mean keyword stuffing! In the past, I’ve made the mistake of stuffing keywords in my pins. It’s no wonder why I wasn’t getting any traffic when I first started. Without any traffic to my blog, there was no way for me to make money on Pinterest, so don’t make the same mistake!

Example of keyword stuffing that you should try to avoid:

Example of a conversational description that sprinkles targeted and relevant keywords:

5. Join group boards and make new personal boards every month.

When you read other bloggers’ posts on how they increased their Pinterest traffic by over 1,500% and made money on Pinterest, they will harp a lot on joining group boards. You’ll hear:
“GROUP BOARDS!! YOU NEED TO JOIN A LOT OF GROUP BOARDS TO EXPLODE YOUR PINTEREST TRAFFIC!!”
I assume these posts haven’t been updated after Pinterest made changes earlier this year in 2018.
Though I still recommend joining group boards that are relevant to your niche, I’ve heard from established bloggers that Pinterest has shifted their focus to personal boards. In addition to that, Pinterest favors smaller group boards (relevant to your niche) with fewer contributors.
With that said, focus on making new personal boards while joining some high-quality group boards with fewer contributors.

💡PRO TIP: Another alternative to joining group boards is to start using Tailwind Tribes. This will allow you to upload your pins to each tribe (like a group board) where members will share them. Aside from the Tribes feature, I also use Tailwind to schedule my pins to both group boards and my own personal boards. Since using Tailwind, my traffic increased from 500 to over 1,500 daily page views (sometimes hitting as high as 4,000 per day)!

How to make money on Pinterest with a blog

This is the moment you’ve been waiting for!
You are now ready to learn how to make money on Pinterest after you’ve mastered the following:
– wrote 5-10 epic blog articles related to your niche that is inspiring and/or solves a problem.
– signed up for a Pinterest business account and verified your domain.
– created eye-catching pins with clickable images and titles.
– joined a minimum of 10 group boards and made 10 personal boards related to your niche.
– optimized your bio profile, boards, and pins by sprinkling relevant keywords throughout.
Here are 2 ways you can start making money on Pinterest after having your blog and Pinterest account set up!

1. Drive traffic to your blog.

Pinterest traffic is honestly a new blogger’s BFF! When you have a new blog or website, I recommend focusing your efforts on Pinterest! It’s definitely a lot easier to get traffic from Pinterest than Google when your website is new.
When Pinterest is used correctly and consistently, you can drive a lot of traffic to your blog and make money through display advertising.
Again, you need to write blog posts that are helpful to your readers!
Depending on how many ads you put and which ad network you’re with, you can potentially make between $6 to $20 per 1,000 page views each day.

How to make money on Pinterest with Adsense:

Yes, you can make money with Pinterest by displaying ads on your blog with Google Adsense.
When you’re a brand new blogger, I recommend applying to Google Adsensebecause they do not require you to have a minimum amount of page views.
However, they are not the best way to make money since they pay you very little. I used to be with Google Adsense and made roughly $50 to $200 per month with 10,000 to 40,000 monthly page views.
Don’t get me wrong, I was still happy as a new blogger (I am still new and learning). But we all have to start somewhere!
I personally used Google Adsense, but there are other ad networks you can apply to when you’re a new blogger:

Display ads with Mediavine:

I recently switched from Google Adsense to Mediavine after hitting 25,000 monthly sessions back in July 2018. It takes 3-4 weeks to make the switch.
Mediavine requires your blog to be at least 3-4 months old with a minimum of 25,000 monthly sessions (~$30,000 page views).
As I increased my Pinterest traffic to my blog a few months after July 2018, I started earning a passive income online of at least $1,000+ USD per month by displaying ads like the one you see here…
I definitely saw a HUGE improvement in ad earnings once I made the switch from Google Adsense to Mediavine!
See below for my results…

Before: Google Adsense
I used to make on average $5 to $10 per day from ~1,800 daily page views.

After: Mediavine
I officially became a member of Mediavine on August 17, 2018. As you can see below, I was able to make $348.39 in 9 days (August 17 to August 25)!
In a day with 1,800 page views, I would make ~$25 per day with Mediavine. There was even one time where I made $71 in a day when I reached 4,000 daily page views!
My earnings improved by 300% because I was able to drive traffic to my blog by using Pinterest!

2. How to make money on Pinterest with affiliate links.

On top of making money with Adsense or Mediavine, you can also make money on Pinterest using affiliate links. This is also known as the affiliate marketing strategy.
There are two ways to doing that — with and without a blog.
I’m going to first talk about how to achieve this using the blog method. Again, this is my preferred method because it has worked well for me.

First of all, what is affiliate marketing? And how can you make money on Pinterest with affiliate marketing?
If you don’t know, affiliate marketing is just recommending products that you love and/or believe will add value to your audience.
After they make a purchase through your affiliate link, you earn a small commission. In other words, you get rewarded by providing value and/or solving someone’s problem through a product or service.
First, let’s talk about how to make money on Pinterest by driving traffic to your blog posts that have affiliate links.

This first approach is my favorite way to make money because, for one, you earn from display advertising by getting traffic; and secondly, you earn from potential affiliate sales when you offer a solution to your readers’ problems.
PRO TIP: Use Canva to make pretty pins that will drive massive traffic to your blog post with affiliate links. I use the free version and it’s more than enough for beginners.

Here is real proof you can make money on Pinterest with affiliate links by starting a blog

So far this month, I’ve made over $1,000 from affiliate marketing, so here I show you examples of two different affiliate networks that I’m currently with. I made money from other affiliate programs this month, but I only show these two for illustration purposes.

Awin network:

FlexOffers network:

Once you have your blog set up with 5 to 10 posts, you can start applying to affiliate networks such as Awin and FlexOffers (shown above).
After you get accepted into affiliate networks, you can start applying to a wide range of companies and promote their products and services on your blog. Again, only promote things that you genuinely believe in and will help your audience!
You can learn more about affiliate marketing and how to use it the correct way by taking THIS epic e-course. The course creator consistently makes over $50,000 per month from affiliate marketing and it’s the resource that I’ve been using to make a consistent income each month!

How I make over $5,000 per month with affiliate links by driving Pinterest traffic

To learn more about affiliate marketing and how to monetize your blog properly, I recommend investing in this e-course, Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing by John Cristani.
is amazing and has become one of my favorite bloggers today among other ones who have inspired me to start my blog!
When I first purchased her e-course, I was able to make over $400 immediately within the month after implementing a few of her strategies (I wasn’t done with the course yet). I’m still not done and I was still able to make over $1,000 per month in affiliate marketing as a brand new blogger!
I’m still learning and haven’t applied all of her strategies yet, so I can’t wait to see what happens when I do!

For more information, visit Making 6 figures Affiliate Marketing free training website here and see what her students have to say about this e-course! You will honestly be mind-blown by their results!

How to make money on Pinterest (without a blog)

Up until now, I talked about how you can make money on Pinterest with a blog.
It’s totally fine if you’re not interested in starting a blog. You can still learn how to make money on Pinterest without a blog!
Here are 3 ways to achieve this! ðŸ™‚

1. How to use affiliate links on Pinterest without a website or blog.

Aside from making money on Pinterest by driving traffic to your blog with affiliate links, you can also make money by inputting the affiliate link directly into your Pinterest pin. This affiliate link will lead the Pinterest user straight to the product or service.
So, yes, you can still make money with affiliate marketing on Pinterest without a blog. However, I still recommend starting one because a blog gives you so much more flexibility!
Also, beware of this approach because some companies don’t allow you to use direct affiliate links on Pinterest pins such as Amazon.
So, research this before you plan to add any affiliate links to your pins that lead users directly to the product’s landing page.
I personally don’t use this method because I enjoy talking about the product on my blog where readers can get more info about it.
I also feel that the blog approach converts better (that’s just my personal opinion) but things work differently for different people.
I suggest you test out what works best for you! When using the direct affiliate approach, be sure to disclose your affiliate relationship by using hashtags such as #affiliate or #affiliatelink in your pin description.

2. How to pin on Pinterest for money: become a virtual assistant.

Can you get paid to pin on Pinterest?
Aside from the ideas of starting a blog and driving traffic using Pinterest, or using affiliate links on Pinterest, you can also make money on Pinterest by becoming a Pinterest Virtual Assistant (VA).
Now, how does that sound? Get paid to pin on Pinterest🙂

3. Market your own products on Pinterest to sell.

Similar to starting an Etsy store, you can also sell your products and services on Pinterest. Here are the following items you can sell that will help you make money on Pinterest:
– courses
– e-books
– printables
– furniture
– home decor items
– clothing and accessories
The possibilities are endless! You can even market your consulting services on Pinterest by linking your pins back to your website.

Over to you — readers, are you ready to make money on Pinterest? With or without a blog, it’s up to you! If you’re interested in starting a profitable blog, you can feel free to check out my step-by-step instructions on how to start one!

– is it possible to make money with a blog ðŸ’¸
– why Im supposed to started a blog and why i should start a blog today! ðŸ–¥
– what exactly i need to start my blog and the blog hosting company I recommend for beginners
– Show me PROOF that you can make money blogging,
– how to become a successful blogger ðŸ¤©

Is making money with a blog possible?

ow, I have to tell u that starting a blog and start making money from it ,is not hard as how some bloggers make it sound :).
However, it's VERY possible to make money as a nice amount of money only from blogging (with NO prior experience) as long as you set realistic expectations from the start.
Also, you’d want to take it nice and slow… Trust me, slow and steady wins the race! ðŸ¥‡
You can do this! ðŸŒŸ
After blogging for almost a year, I can personally tell you that making money online with a blog is REAL!

And believe me when I say this… I’m NOT special or smart in any way!

This post is long and detailed to ensure you start your blog the right way, so be sure to pin this for later!

When I started blogging no more than a year ago, my interest in blogging grew so I didn’t really care much for TV anymore!
Not only was I able to save money by cutting cable, but I was also able to make EXTRA money on top of my full-time job with this new hobby!

Just imagine what an EXTRA $1,000 to $5,000 per month can do for you! ðŸ¤‘ ðŸ˜®

In hindsight, I wish I started this blog sooner! I am so confident to say that you may feel the same too after you start your blog today! ðŸ™‚

The blog hosting company that I recommend:

personally went for Bluehost too when I started my blog and I highly recommend them to new beginners like you!
When I was a beginner, Bluehost made it really easy for me to start my blog.
With that said, you don’t need to be a tech genius to start a blog and launch your blog.
They have 24/7 customer support who can resolve your problems really quick! As a new blogger myself, I’ve been really happy with their customer service to date!

Do not start a blog using a free platform!

I know you might be thinking of starting a blog for free on WordPress.com or Blogger.
DO NOT go that route!
It would be near impossible to make money when you sign up for a free blog because no one will take you seriously.
On top of that, applying to ad networks and affiliate programs will be extremely tough.
You will thank yourself for doing this! It’s honestly one of the best investments I’ve made this year!

🌟 Whenever you’re ready, you can click here to start your blog and follow through my easy step-by-step instructions by scrolling all the way down to the section “How to start a blog with Bluehost (my easy 6-step tutorial)”.

And trust me, I’m not special in any way!
In fact, I had A LOT of self-doubts because I always thought you had to be either really tech savvy or a great writer to start a blog and make money on Pinterest. But no, this is far from the truth!
As long as you have basic computer skills such as typing (which most of us do in 2019) AND you have a strong willingness to learn and actually implement what I’m about to say, then you are ready to start using Pinterest to your advantage.
Before we dive into the other methods, let’s first talk about how to make money with Pinterest with a blog. This is one of the best and most rewarding options in my honest opinion!

Why starting a blog today could change your life:

Here are five reasons why starting your blog today could change your life.
1. Improves your mental health – I can attest that starting this blog improved my mental health significantly! It gives me the opportunity to write about the things I enjoy talking about which is helping others manage their money and personal finance.
This distracts me from negative thoughts or being sad about my personal problems in life. Surprisingly, you won’t even have time to feel sad or bothered because you’ll be thinking about how to grow your blog!

2. Amazing learning opportunity outside of school and the traditional 9-5 workspace – Blogging is a totally different world! It’s like a course on its own and there’s so much you can learn! After starting this blog, I realized that there’s more in life than just going to school and working the typical 9-5. You’ll know what I mean once you get started!

3. Build connections with the online community – I’ve met some amazing people online and they are the people who will keep you motivated and going with your blog!

4. Tell your own story – Everyone has a unique voice when it comes to helping a reader with their problems. For example, if you blog about your debt-free journey and the steps you took to reduce your debts, your voice can offer value to a reader who can relate to your story.

5. Make money opportunities – I would have never thought that anyone could make money online through their blogs! I used to think that the traditional 9-5 and getting promoted was the only way to make money. My traditional and naive thinking is not true. You can definitely start a blog that makes money today to help you get out of debt, stop living paycheck to paycheck, save money for retirement, or even improve your lifestyle!

Proof that you can make money blogging:

It is totally doable if your intention is to start a profitable blog but keep in mind that creating a money-making blog is a marathon and not a race!

If you’re hoping to become the next Bill Gates overnight, then this is not for you. You should just close this window browser and hope to win the next jackpot.
I am not here to guarantee you results because nothing in life is ever guaranteed (no matter how great other bloggers make things sound). BUT, I am extremely confident that you can reap huge rewards with your blog as long as you’re patient and willing to learn!
Overall, I’m slowly learning and I know you can too, but please keep in mind that this is not a “get-rich-quick” scheme. Like Warren Buffett and his investment style, it will require patience and perseverance.
On top of that, you really need to believe in yourself. I admit that I have A LOT of self-doubts about myself BUT overall, you need to have the “I WANT THIS! I GOT THIS!” type of mindset!
As long as you enjoy what you’re writing about, along with solving your readers’ problems, the chances of establishing a profitable blog will likely be in your favor.
“It takes many years to make an overnight success.”

How to become a successful blogger:

Since I started blogging, I noticed that there’s one thing in common among the successful bloggers who are making over $10,000 per month from their blogs
They did not give up!
I have to admit that most of my life, I was a Debbie Downer who got discouraged and gave up easily after failing once or twice.
I was also a person with extremely thin skin who was sensitive to literally everything (I still am but getting better after starting this blog!).
So, before starting my blog, I kept in mind that to become a successful blogger, you must train yourself to have the following traits:

1. Thick skin – Not everybody will like you and that’s okay because you’re not here to solve the entire world’s problem. I doubt anyone can do that! No matter how great your content or product is, you will come across haters. Haters are gonna hate and that’s their problem; not yours!
The saying also goes: if you try to satisfy everyone, you will end up satisfying no one!
Remember, you’re here to help your target audience and they will appreciate you. Those who judge, hate, or don’t like you aren’t your target audience! Forget them!

2. Persistence – Blogging is not always going to be rosy no matter how great other bloggers make it sound on their posts that go something like this: “How I made over $5,000 in my second month blogging from scratch!” It’s great that some people are able to achieve such outstanding results in their second month, but don’t lose hope over that.
I admit that I feel like crap too when I see those stories, but you just gotta keep swimming and think about what YOU need to do in order to achieve YOUR goals! The best way to spin this around is to learn from successful bloggers. Instead of feeling like crap and giving up, be inspired by them! Whatever you do, don’t give up!

3. Curious – Be curious to learn. As I mentioned above, be inspired and motivated by successful bloggers! Analyze other successful bloggers’ website to see what they’re doing right.
4. Don’t be scared to invest in the right blogging education – I admit that I was SCARED to invest in blogging courses and e-books when I first started. I was afraid of being scammed by what they call it “sleazy online salespeople,” but I took the plunge anyway because there is no such thing as free lunches! To my surprise, the few courses that I purchased made a huge difference in my blog traffic and income results. I actually wish I did this sooner! here is some aff earning for 1 month :D

HOT ! HoT ! HoT!

The one course that really helped me generate an income
was > this affiliate marketing e-course < where the course creator teaches you how to monetize your blog with affiliate marketing.
She makes over $100,000 per month (yes, MONTH) with her blog, so I knew that I would be learning from the best when I enrolled in her e-course here.

To put things into perspective, that’s equivalent to a cup of latte from Starbucks!
Now, let’s dive into the details on how to start your very first and awesome blog, shall we?

Choose Your Niche

This is where you ask yourself the following questions:
– What do you love talking about to your friends and family (or even strangers), that you can’t shut up about?
– What are your strengths, skills, and interests?
– Perhaps they’re not your strengths or skills (yet). But what do you enjoy talking about?
– What motivates you to learn and grow within that niche? For example, I wouldn’t consider myself an expert when it comes to personal finance, but I am confident enough to offer tips based on my experience and what I’ve learned. As you all know, there is no limit when it comes to learning. The best part is being able to learn and teach at the same time!
– Most importantly, is this something you would talk and write about even if you weren’t paid to do it? If you answered yes, you’re definitely onto something!

Topic Ideas

There are so many different topics for you to blog about! Here are some examples:
– Travel
– Food
– Beauty and Make-up
– Personal Finance and Money (that’s me!)
– Frugal Living
– Entrepreneurship and Business
– Career and Personal Development
– Technology and Gadget Reviews
– Healthy Eating
– Health and Fitness
– Crafts and DIY Projects
– Parenting and Mommy Blogs
– Real Estate
– Home Renovations
– Fashion and General Lifestyle

As you can see, the ideas out there are unlimited!
You can blog about almost anything as long as you are sincerely interested in that topic. AND let’s not forget… you need to keep the reader in mind by solving their problems!
Your blog posts need to provide value by solving a problem (or at least entertaining to read)!
This is what I learned within my first year of blogging…
You DON’T need to reinvent the wheel.

You may think articles that solve common problems is saturated and that there’s no point in creating that type of content. This is SO NOT true — there’s a reason why they are common…
Because A LOT of people are searching for them and YOU have your own unique voice and story that offers value! Believe me, there are people who actually want to hear from you!
Some common problem-solving posts could be as simple as the following:
– How to declutter and organize your home
– 25 smart ideas for organizing your kitchen
– 9 simple exercises for women that burn calories fast
– 25 ways to save money without living an extreme frugal lifestyle
– How to plan an amazing trip to Europe without going broke
– 10 ways to look pretty without using a lot of makeup

Tips on Choosing a Domain Name

Now that you’ve got your niche, it’s time to think of your domain name.

Your domain name is essentially your www.yourblogname.com. I know a lot of people overthink this because they want to come up with the perfect name. The truth is, there’s no such thing as THE perfect name.
But you may want to consider some words in your name that will help people search for you. For example, if you blog about frugal living, it helps to include the word “frugal” in your domain name.
You don’t have to rush this part. Sit down and give yourself some time to think, but don’t over complicate it!
Anyway, let’s get you started with my easy step-by-step tutorial below!

How to start a blog with Bluehost (my easy 6-step tutorial)

  • Step 1: Get Started

Click on the green button, “get started now” when you enter my Bluehost discount page right here.

I recommend choosing the “basic” 36-month plan to get the cheapest price to start your blog — this is the plan I personally purchased when I first started.
This will only cost $2.95 USD per month through this special link here (pay full upfront) when you sign up for the 36-month plan.
The next option available is the 24-month plan, which goes for $3.95 per month.
The third option is the 12-month plan. If you sign up for a 12-month plan, the price becomes $4.95 per month — this is still an extremely cheap option to choose because your investment would cost less than $60 for the whole year! This makes a great choice if you want to try out blogging without spending a lot of money. Plus, you still get a FREE domain name as long as you sign up for the 12-month plan through my link.
Again, the best value would be the 36-month plan because this lowers the monthly rate over the 36-month period (plus, you get a free domain name as well).
You can ignore the “plus” and “pro” packages — “basic” plan is all you need. There’s no need to pay extra especially when you’re a beginner. Plus, you can also change these options later down the road if you decide you want extra features.

  • Step 2: Choose and Register Your Domain Name

Next, register your domain name (I went through some tips on choosing your domain name in the section above).
Again, this domain name is included for free as long as you sign up for at least a 12-month plan with Bluehost.
To get the best pricing, I recommend going for a hosting plan that is longer than 12 months because it will save you money in the long run. I personally went for the best value which is the 36-month plan.
Again, if you think about it, this will cost you less than a cup of latte.
So, what are you waiting for? Follow this step to set up your free domain name. ðŸ™‚

  • Step 3: Provide Your Contact and Payment Information

Now that you’ve decided your free domain name, follow the next step to provide payment information and fill out your contact.
If you’re having trouble with this section, feel free to call me up and I’ll help you with that! Don’t worry, I’ll only charge you an arm and a leg for helping you fill out yourcontact and payment information. ðŸ™‚

  • Already have a domain name?

If you already have a domain name (i.e. you’re not registering for a free domain name), then skip to the next section.

You’ll notice this page where they ask you to choose package extras.
To be honest, the only thing I would consider adding on is the Domain Privacy Protection for only $0.99 per month.
As a brand new blogger, you don’t need it but I personally went with it (and I also recommend it) because it prevents unwanted e-mails (i.e. spams) from your inbox.
Other than that, you don’t need anything else. Plus, if you ever change your mind, you could easily make changes down the road
Again, I kept things really simple when I started as a brand new blogger. ðŸ™‚

  • Step 4: Create a Password

Next, choose a password for your account, confirm it, and then log in.
Hint: It’s best to choose a password that is NOT the same as your banking or private information. That’s just common sense. ðŸ˜‰

  • Step 5: Install WordPress on Bluehost

Don’t worry, you’re almost done! This is the most fun part!
Now that you’ve purchased your hosting service and free domain name, the final step is to install WordPress for FREE on Bluehost.

As you can see below, Bluehost will ask you to choose a theme. You can choose what you feel fits your personality.
If you’re not ready yet, feel free to skip this step.

The free theme that I’m currently using is the Oslen Light and I haven’t changed it since I started this blog. I’ve been wanting to change my theme for a while now but I just didn’t put it on top of my priority list because I’ve been focusing my efforts on other areas of my blog that would generate higher returns.

With that said, a free theme isn’t going to stop you from making money on your blog as long as it looks modern, clean, and presentable. You can always choose/change your theme later. There’s an abundance of free and paid themes! Once you get the hang of blogging with WordPress, you can get more serious about installing a specific theme you love.

  • Step 6: Final Steps

Now that you’ve selected your theme, you can select “Start Building.”

Next, Bluehost will ask: “What kind of site can we help you set up?”
You can choose either “Business” or “Personal.” It doesn’t really matter. You can even click “I don’t need help.”

Done, and done!

Congratulations, you’re officially a blogger now!
Aren’t you super excited?? Let’s celebrate now!!
